Why Ingredients Matter, Especially In Chronic Conditions

Why Ingredients Matter, Especially In Chronic Conditions

Many many products are organic. Many many products have really beautiful ingredients. But there's a few questions going on when you look at ingredients. First off that bat for a quick check-look at the "Other Ingredient". Often that is where you find all of the toxic stuff that many brands bank on the consumer not checking because they saw nice natural vitamins and herbs under the main ingredient list. They count on the consumer to not be wise enough to check. Very often these ingredients are quite toxic and are there to produce an effect for beauty but with no regard for health--meaning they can cause huge health problems, from inflammatory reactions to cancer.

If it passes this first quick check phase, then go back to the main ingredients and ask yourself what herbs and vitamins are there in the product. Do you need them? What will they do? Well of course 99% of the population would not have the education to answer this question, but, I will share with you a couple of things. Many times herbs are added that are unnecessary but that are popular, or produce again, an effect of beauty but completely discounting the potential negative health impact it might have. So for example, I notice ginseng in many products. Well, what if you have high blood pressure? Ginseng can make your blood pressure go higher. Ginseng can also increase inflammation in many people having chronic health conditions and therefore increase pain. Not in all cases, but in many cases. Also vitamins- added B vitamins can helps the hair but can dramatically increase the inflammatory response and pain. There's not enough space in this blog to continue all the relevant example, but this gives a bit of insight.

Lastly, appropriate ingredients in a product: Do you know that when you are looking at an ingredient, knowing how that ingredient will affect you depends on where it is derived and how it has been processed? Certain vitamins are derived from soy and other sources that will cause a tremendous pain response where as deriving from other food based sources will not. Further when processing even the natural ingredients often other ingredients are added (an not required to be labeled) in order to execute the process such as antimicrobials and enzymes.
